Set to be replaced by the 918 Spyder, the Carrera GT has stood as Porsche’s ultimate road-going supercar for the best part of a decade. With over 600 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque, the 5.7-liter V10-powered beast is good for a 0-62 mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph. The Koenigsegg CCR is practically the same age as the Porsche, but its 4.7-liter V8 puts out almost 800 horses and 700 lb-ft of torque for a 3.2-second 0-60 time and a 245mph top speed. This was never going to be a fair contest. But is it still worth watching? Of course it is.
These are still two immensely capable, targa-topped, mid-engined, rear-drive European supercars… even if they have both been practically replaced by now.
