Can America’s supercar hold off the challenge of the notorious supercar killer? Two cars that epitomize the best their respective countries have to offer have gone head to head down the drag strip, with the all-American 2004 Ford GT taking on Japan’s genius offspring, the 2012 Nissan GT-R.

We’re not sure if these are the same cars that faced off at the start of the year, but the result is certainly not the same. The 5.4-liter supercharged V8 has been boosted to 600 hp thanks to an ECU remap and bigger pulley, while Godzilla is stock albeit with the benefit of launch control.

That gives the supercar killer a short-range advantage but can it match the sought-after modern classic over the distance? Check out the vid to find out.
