At over 2,100 kg, the BMW 7 Series on which the Alpina B7 is based, is one heavy luxury limo. So you’re probably thinking it doesn’t stand a chance against the 470-hp 6.4-liter HEMI V8-powered SRT8 Challenger. That’s unless you already know the Alpina B7 is powered by a 540-hp 4.4-liter V8 mated to an 8-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
The Challenger SRT8 features launch-control and is said to sprint from 0-60 mph in well under five seconds. BMW claims the Alpina B7 is good for around 4.4 seconds, so this should make for a interesting quarter-mile match up.
