Video: Corvette Stingray Vs. Lexus IS-F
AdvertisementYou’d be correct for assuming the C7 Corvette Stingray is the firm favorite in this drag race, but looks can be deceiving.
On paper the C7 is good for 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. When John Hennessey took a stock Stingray to the drag strip he clocked the quarter-mile in 12.23 seconds at almost 115 mph, while Chevy claims it can sprint from 0-60 mph in under four seconds. Until the RC F comes along, the IS F remains the quickest model in the Lexus stable.
It’s 5.0-liter V8 is rated at 416 hp and 371 lb-ft of torque and is capable of a 0-62 mph in the mid-fours. However, this particular model has been modified with new headers, exhaust and MT Street ET tires. And as you’ll see, that makes all the difference.
