Video: Ferrari 599 GTO Vs. Ferrari 430 Scuderia
AdvertisementModern Prancing Horse legends face off in style. As the road-going version of the track-only 599XX, the Ferrari 599 GTO is a phenomenally quick car, quicker even than the Enzo around the Fiorano test circuit.
It’s 6.0-liter V12, rated at 661 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, helps propel the Prancing Horse from 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds. Only 599 were built, so this is a rare car to see in the metal. And seeing it up against a Ferrari 430 Scuderia is even rarer. The predecessor of the recently unveiled 458 Speciale, the lightweight more potent variant of the 4.3-liter V8-powered F430, is a rapid machine.
Ferrari claims it can match the Enzo at Fiorano, while sprinting from 0-62 mph takes just 3.6 seconds. An uneven battle on paper, but what about on pavement?
