Video: Hennessey takes new Corvette Stingray to the Strip
AdvertisementCheck out the first customer-owned Vette run the quarter mile. We know that Hennessey has plans to massage the new Corvette Stingray to 1,000 horsepower, and we’ve even seen the C7 attack the Nurburgring.
But thanks to the Texan tuner we now have footage of the first customer-owned Vette being tested on the quarter-mile drag strip at Lonestar Motorsports Park near Houston. When the Stingray was unveiled, Chevy promised a 0-60 mph time of less than four seconds. Hennessey, however, has clocked it at 4.15 seconds. The Vette then ran the ¼-mile in 12.23 seconds at 114.88 mph, taking just 9.5 seconds to sprint from 0-100 mph.
The Stingray has been tested bone stock, so it’s time for John Hennessey and his crew to start working their magic. Watch this space.
