Nimble and chuckable, hot hatches are about more than straight-line speed. Because they offer such usable performance and superior visibility, they can often teach supercars a thing or two down a twisty mountain road.
But Evo magazine wanted to see how the latest pair measure up on the drag strip. The showdown pits the latest Vauxhall Adtra VXR against the new Renaultsport Megane 265. Both pack upwards of 260 horsepower from 2.0-liter turbo fours driving the front wheels.
They also both have three doors, look-at-me aero kits and, in this case, are both decked out in white. The full comparo hits shelves this week in the magazines 173rd issue, but you can check out the straight-line bit in the video below.
