Video: Rare Mosler MT 900 battles SLR McLaren on the strip

Two legendary supercars duke it out for quarter-mile bragging rights. One of just 35 ever made, the carbon-fiber clad Mosler MT 900 comes powered by a LS7-derived 7.0-liter V8 engine, while the SLR McLaren Roadster has a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 rated at 617 horsepower.

Seldom are these cars seen on the drag strip, so it’s a rare treat to watch them compete against each other on the quarter-mile. Both finish the 1320-foot stretch travelling at 120 mph, but at 11.62 seconds the SLR McLaren is a fair bit in front of the Mosler who labors to a time of 12.38 secs.
